The CoServ Advantage: Passion & Commitment to Community

The well-being of the communities we serve is at the heart of the CoServ Advantage.
We are passionate about helping those in need, whether it’s building a wheelchair ramp or giving blood. Your community is our home, and we are committed to supporting the communities that mean so much to us.
Ashtin Pizarro embodies this philosophy at work and at home. Ashtin is a Community Events Specialist 2 in our Community Engagement department, which oversees all donations, volunteer efforts, and a host of other community outreach efforts at CoServ.
She is also a founder of the North Texas nonprofit, The Happy Pet Project. The nonprofit focuses on fostering and re-homing dogs from local shelters.
“I fell in love with animal welfare about 10 years ago,” said Ashtin. “I was volunteering and then just continued to connect with the people and animals involved so it just became a crucial part of my life.”
Ashtin is a Denton County native and CoServ Member, having grown up here and now living in Krum, she has come full circle.
“CoServ has an amazing presence in the community,” she said. “They’re always doing things in service to the people around them.”
On any given day, Ashtin is passing out CoServ Snackin’ Wagon barbecue sandwiches to local first responders, presenting a big check to a nonprofit, catching up with Members at CoServ Corral events, or dropping off donations from CoServ Employees.

Community engagement is at the heart of what we do every day. Our Employees are committed to giving back and impacting the lives around them.
“As I got to know CoServ as an employer, I honestly was so excited and felt so connected,” Ashtin said. “Everything we do is giving back to the communities we serve.”
Kara Paddock feels the same way. Kara volunteers at her church in Ponder and enjoys spreading her faith, love and care to young people in her community.
“Ponder is where I grew up, so I have a special place in my heart for Ponder,” Kara said. “I think it’s important to give back to a community that poured so much into me when I was growing up.”
Kara is a Customer Care Specialist who spends her days at work on the phone with Members and Customers who need all types of help. Through a few degrees of separation, Kara is serving her neighbors, friends, and family.
“Our Members aren’t just random people or numbers on a screen,” Kara said. “They’re actual people and sometimes they’re people I know and that I care about,” she said.
Serving her community, at work and at home, makes Kara feel good. She believes giving back is important – “Whenever we all come together, we can do great things.”
At CoServ, we are passionate about being in our communities. Our Employees, like Ashtin and Kara, are just a couple of examples of many who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those around them. That’s the CoServ advantage.
