Showing Appreciation to CoServ Linemen

COSERV LINEMEN and their bucket trucks are perhaps the most recognizable part of CoServ for our Members.
Our highly-trained, safety-minded professionals are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to power outages and emergencies – but that’s only a fraction of what they do.
Keeping up with maintenance while the system adds an average of 1,300 meters a month requires constant attention and vigilance. Whether they’re responding to an outage in the freezing cold or doing routine repairs to prevent an outage from occurring, CoServ linemen take pride in their work and the electric system that delivers reliable power to Members.
Upgrading existing lines also keeps the crews busy all year. CoServ’s Communications Team caught up with one crew as they were installing higher capacity wire in Justin. The new poles were placed closer together to make the system more resilient during windstorms and other severe weather. From digging the holes to raising the poles and stringing the new wire, this day-to-day work was done without any interruptions for Members in the area.
“Improvements like this one in Justin are another example of CoServ Investing in Tomorrow,” said Cody Coulter, Director of Operations. “The higher capacity wire means we can not only serve the growth that’s coming but also redirect electricity on that circuit to serve additional Members if another circuit goes off during an outage.”
