We're heading south for the next stop on the CoServ on the Road Tour 2024 to Argyle, an up-and-coming city of about 5,700 people. Spanning 11 square miles, Argyle packs a lot of fun into a small package.

The town’s population grew 20% in 2023, making it the sixth fastest-growing city in North Texas. With that growth comes more restaurants and shops, including one-of-a-kind gems you can’t find anywhere else.

No trip to Argyle is complete without stopping by 407 BBQ, located, where else, but on Farm-to-Market 407. Owner Bryan McLarty started out doing barbecue competitions, but fans of his smoked meats eventually convinced him to start his own restaurant.

This town is full of entrepreneurs who have defied the odds.

Perhaps none more than Mike and Valarie Gross, who opened Uncle Mike’s Bistro in October 2020 despite challenges from COVID-19 restrictions. You quickly build a following when you make scratch-made pancakes, paninis, sandwiches, and wraps like Mike. Their business has done so well that they plan to double the size of the restaurant this year.

Speaking of origin stories, have you heard the one about the soldier who married an Italian and together they opened a pizza restaurant in Argyle? That’s the supposed tale of Earl’s 377 Pizza as evidenced by the military-themed tributes on the walls. While we’re unsure how much of that story is accurate, we can say their artisan pizzas are 100% delicious!

Aside from the great food, Argyle also boasts many one-of-a-kind shops.

If you’re searching for a gift for the hard-to-shop-for family member, Gypsy Caravan and Argyle Party & Gift have plenty of treasures you can’t find anywhere else.

Finally, if you’re craving fresh, locally grown vegetables or fruit, the Argyle Farmers Market is hosted on the second Saturday of the month. Emily Holt started the market this year to honor her and her husband’s families, who have been farming for generations. It’s located behind her business, Argyle Party & Gift, 409 Highway 377 in Argyle.

Argyle’s got a lot to offer with more new exciting things on the horizon, including the Argyle Commerce Center near Town Hall that will feature retail, restaurants and luxury office space.
