CoServ donates 18 laptops to two nonprofits in North Texas
Whether it’s grants or manpower, CoServ is always ready to support our local nonprofits.
All Community Outreach in Allen and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors in Prosper were in need of computers to help further their missions.
CoServ came to the rescue, donating refurbished laptops and accessories to the nonprofits.
“Being able to provide donated assets to organizations that are aligned with CoServ’s drive to support the community and help those in need is something special,” said Conan Tearney, Client Services Manager for CoServ. “The process we follow to make this happen and the effort to get the devices ready is not a large effort but the impact is immense and positively affects many individuals.”
The process starts with CoServ’s Community Engagement team hearing from one of our partner organizations in need. They notify CoServ’s Client Services department, who starts setting aside assets that are being replaced as part of our standard life cycle management.
“Even though these devices have reached the end of their useability at CoServ, we have found a purpose for them where they can make a difference,” Conan said.
All Community Outreach received 15 laptops, monitors and more for its Kiser-Covington ACO Learning Academy.
“This lab will give our clients essential access to technology, helping them build digital skills and opening doors to learning and growth in a space designed for success,” said Janet Smith, Director of Income Support for All Community Outreach. “These contributions strengthen our mission to uplift the community and provide meaningful support. Together, we’re building a brighter, more resilient future.”
All Community Outreach also received a donation of heaters and blankets, which they will distribute to clients this winter.
Before the laptop donation, staff at Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors were using their personal laptops to track donations and client information. CoServ donated four laptops and accessories to the nonprofit so their staff would have dedicated computers to use.
“This will enable us to set up our own network and have more security for all our sensitive material,” said Robert Daleo, Executive Director and CEO of Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors.
The nonprofit plans to hire a new development manager to handle the increase in clients. Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors also received a CCF grant to help purchase food for their clients.
“There’s a lot more people dealing with hunger than people probably realize,” Robert said. “We have this grant plus this computer equipment from CoServ so it’s been a wonderful partnership and we’re very blessed for everything CoServ has done for us.”
