Just in time for the summer heat, the CoServ Charitable Foundation (CCF) made its annual delivery of air conditioners and fans last week to six of our social service agencies throughout North Texas.

In total, CCF donated 155 fans and 70 AC units, these will be a lifesaver for CoServ Members and Customers in need as temperatures soar over 100 degrees this summer.

All Community Outreach received 60 fans and 20 AC units.

Scott Hildebrand, Marketing Director for All Community Outreach, said some clients can’t afford to run the existing AC units while for others the AC unit is broken or not enough to cool the entire home.

Scott said their clients often come to them in crisis because of some tragic event, such as job loss, death in the family or divorce. All Community Outreach’s goal is to stop them from sliding past the poverty line and into homelessness. The range of services they provide helps put them back on their feet.

In addition to the annual donation of AC units and Fans, CCF also gives grants to assist Members and Customers with their utility bills. “It’s tremendously important,” Scott said. “You guys also provide us with the funds to be able to keep people’s utilities on. We do a ton of that.”

Frisco Family Services received 35 fans.

“We are so thankful for the assistance CoServ provided to help keep the seniors and families that we serve cool this summer,” said Nicole Bursey, Executive Director of Frisco Family Services. “The fans will help ensure that our clients, particularly seniors with limited incomes, can maintain a safe and comfortable temperature in their home during our hot Texas summer.”
