The CoServ Advantage

CoServ has been fulfilling its mission of delivering safe and reliable energy solutions for the past 88 years. But we didn't get to be the third largest electric cooperative in the country with one of the highest reliability rates without a dedication to the communities we serve, investing in infrastructure and technology so that we're always looking toward the future in ways that we can Invest in Tomorrow.

Being part of CoServ means you are a part of something bigger

At CoServ, we're committed to serving our Members and Customers. Our Mission is to deliver excellent service while providing safe and reliable energy solutions. Our Vision is to be a respected leader dedicated to implementing innovative ideas that fulfill the needs of those we serve. For 88 years, we've been delivering on both fronts, and we are excited to continue serving you for many more years to come.

Electric Members

We operate differently than most utilities, especially if you are used to the deregulated electric market (retail electric providers or REPs). One of the benefits of being a CoServ Member and part of a Cooperative, is that we are not run by shareholders, and our responsibility is to you, our Members.

Additionally, as a Member of CoServ, every time you pay your bill you are investing in your Cooperative. As a not-for-profit, any excess margins are divided proportionally among CoServ Members based on their annual energy purchases through a process called Capital Credits.

Gas Customers

Our gas Customers benefit from having one of the more modern systems among other existing gas companies which means upgraded lines resistant to breaks and leaks.

They also have a company who is driven by a culture of safety that dedicates resources to making sure our Customers know about dig safety, what to do if they smell gas, have a hit line on their property, or have questions about pipelines in their community.

Going above and beyond

At CoServ, we don't just focus on the business side of the co-op - we focus on the community, as well. Our Employees are out in the community educating young minds and first responders on the safety surrounding electricity and the knowledge of what it means to power a community.

We sponsor many local events, including 5Ks, community festivals, and chamber luncheons. Our CoServ Corral attends some of these events, where they interact with Members and Customers face-to-face.

Through the CoServ Charitable Foundation, we donate to a number of nonprofits in need - inside and outside of our service territory. Donations include toy donations, heaters, and blankets in the winter, and big check presentations - among many other efforts throughout the year!

Our community is at the heart of everything we do, and we work tirelessly every day to ensure they are proud to call us their co-op.

CoServ Offers Clear Pricing Without the Gimmicks

CoServ offers straightforward, transparent rates. We don't lure you with low initial rates that later increase. What you see is truly what you get.

We don't stop there, however; we are committed to working to keep your rates competitive and consistent each month through strategic power purchases for both Electric and Gas. Want to compare what your bill would be with a REP? We've got you covered - check out our Rate Comparison which is updated monthly.

Putting Members First: Delivering Reliable, Affordable Power

Saving our Members' and Customers' money is important to us, and we mean it. Whether through energy savings tips, free in-home energy assessments, or power programs like our Rush Hour Rewards we want you to be empowered and knowledgeable about energy savings.

Aside from being your expert energy advisors, CoServ has an Energy Resources team dedicated to buying blocks of electricity days, weeks, months or even years ahead of time when prices are lower, rather than buying all its power in the real-time market, where prices can be higher, resulting in less risk for the electric co-op and lower electricity costs for Members.

This team is also responsible for making advanced purchase agreements and using various strategies to help keep prices down. When comparing price per Ccf and total bill amount, CoServ's prices remain competitive and lower than our main competitor's.

CoServ Gas: Powering Growth with Modern Infrastructure and Reliable Energy

Since CoServ Gas was established in 1998, we have been committed to providing our Customers with safe and reliable natural gas service. Our system was developed using modern materials and best practices, including the use of excess flow valves (EFVs).

EFVs are a safety component that stops the flow of gas if the service line is cut, broken, or leaking. CoServ Gas has taken a proactive approach to installing EFVs and/or manual shut-off valves on all new construction and all existing service lines at no cost to our Customers.

Our commitment to being proactive extends beyond safety; we also focus on enhancing our infrastructure to keep pace with the rapid growth in our service area. Providing reliable service is our top priority, and you can trust us to deliver.
